This saran wrap (or cling film to us Brits) manicure was a new one to me. I have seen plenty and wanted to try it myself, but thought it was too difficult. So when Day #9 reared it's ugly head I thought about skipping it. But no, I thought I would give it a go. I thought about using contrasting colours to give a good effect, but decided to go for two from the same colour family and see how they turn out.
I did two coats of Rimmel Rose Libertine - one of my favourite polishes for it's mellow pink colour. I read on a tutorial it's best to cover with a top coat if you are doing the saran wrap soon after, unless you do it the following day. So following a top coat I covered one nail at a time with Pixi no.15 - a delicious vibrant pink/purple that I have wanted to try out in a design for ages. While it was still wet I splodged a saran wrap ball over it picking up bits of the colour.
I was really pleased with it until I covered it with a top coat and some of the bits of the design merged together. A combination of not waiting long enough for it to dry and putting too thick a layer of top coat over it. Never mind. I was pleased with the look all the same.

This looks gorgeous, I want to give it a go now!

Do try it! And link me to it if you do. x
DeleteI love the colors you chose. This is great! Did you think it was hard after all?
ReplyDeleteThank you, it was easier than I thought it would be, but I will have another go at it and see how it looks next time with other colours. x
